The advantage of the Alias feature The Alias telephone number is usually a local telephone number of the local telephone exchange. Before the user travels abroad to a country where receiving an incoming call to the EcoSIM is US$0.41/minute or some low affordable rates, he will arrange to forward all calls dialed to his fixed line telephone number and his local mobile number to this Alias. This facility is useful in that it avoids having to require the caller to dial a different number and the call forwarding does not incur any additional per minute cost that is otherwise applicable when calling an international number. Ecocarrier will hold a call dialed to the Alias number as it comes into Ecocarrier’s service platform (“Leg 1”) without answering the call and then dial out separately to your EcoSIM telephone number (“Leg 2”); when you answer the Leg 2 call,  Ecocarrier ‘s service platform then answers Leg 1 call and bridge Leg 1 and Leg 2 together to allow conversation to take place. Thus no charge is incurred if you are not there to answer the incoming call. How does the service work? The service works as follows: A subscriber to the EcoSIM service buys a EcoSIM card  and a certain amount of credit to cover the cost of usage from a reseller of the EcoSIM service. (i) To make an outbound call from anywhere in any of the countries supporting the EcoSIM service ("Servicing Countries") Subscriber/user dials the Destination Number as    + <Country Code> <Area Code> <Telephone Number> on the keypad of the GSM handset  subscriber sees a message on the screen of the GSM handset that says, "Please wait “ and then another message that says “Call connection is in progress”  then the GSM Handset rings - a CallBack Call is received  subscriber presses the "Send/Yes" key of the GSM Handset to answer the CallBack Call  subscriber hears a message that says, "Please hold"  subscriber then hears the ringback tone of the call to the Destination Number  (ii) When an inbound call is dialed by a caller to the EcoSIM No., the operation is as follows: caller dials the EcoSIM No.  the roaming handset rings  the subscriber/user answers the call  subscriber presses the "Send/Yes" key to answer the call and is instantly connected with the calling party  The inbound call is billed at the per minute rate for calling the mobile dialcode of the temporary local number that is assigned to the roaming handset by the local GSM operator. The rate is given by the rate calculator at www.ecosim.mobi. No regular Roaming Charge is applicable to the outbound or inbound call described above. When the handset is roaming in one of the countries  where the local GSM operator imposes a service charge to all foreign SIMs, a per minute surcharge is added to the applicable per minute rates for billing the outbound or inbound call.
